omg this took me fOREVER TO ANIMATE???? I'm really happy with the outcome though!! The tail took the longest since I had to pixel a gradient & I couldn't find a reference so i used...my arm....lol. STILL REALLY HAPPY WITH IT even if the tail is a bit short in movement! Critique for the animation would be lovely as I'm trying to get better at this derp
Koi belongs to =KOIFlSH This icon can be used by =KOIFlSH ONLY. It is NOT for free use.
-> Fleury, there's a chance the file is too big for dA. If it is, let me know and I can give you a static or non-shaded version <3

First of all, let me just say that this icon is absolutely adorable. ;w; I'm not the least bit surprised that it became a daily deviation.
I adore the pose little Koi is in, with the tail showing completely, and despite this being so tiny, you seemed to have captured a lot of personality in it. The character's innocence shows strongly. c:
And then there's that wonderful animation, so simple yet so smooth and affective, not the least bit choppy.
Also, I like how you made the eyes simple, not too flashy and fancy, but just as attractive.
Wonderful job on this! I look forward to buying an icon from you in the future!
VISION: The colors are bright and luminescent, and the image just flows together. ORIGINALITY: A koi-fish cat? That's as original as you can get! TECHNIQUE: Same as the other critiques, the animation could have been a bit smoother. Maybe next time you could use more frames and more subtle movements so that when you piece it together and play it a bit faster than usual, the animation flows and is pleasing to look at over...and over...and over!! (Not that I'm saying I can't for this one!) Overall, the IMPACT was amazing! I was browsing artwork for one of my groups, and a tiny icon that usually could be passed by I spotted right away and favorited! All in all, it's a great piece! I advise you to keep making pixel icons, and to keep practicing- you will get better every time
